Fine-art Product Guide

Fine-art books are stunning works of art printed and bound by our team of experts to your specific order requirements. As such, there are some additional guidelines that we've developed to ensure that our Fine-art books meet your expectations.

 

Due to the high value of Fine-art prints, we will review your file prior to printing and contact you if we have any concerns with your design.

Multiples of 8 Pages

Design your books in multiples of 8 pages - eg 8, 16, 24, 32 etc - otherwise they may have blank pages (sides) at the end of them.

 

Avoid dark backgrounds

Book designs that include dark or solid black backgrounds are more susceptible to showing scuffs on cotton rag.

 

Avoid the edges

Keep important details and elements like faces and text away from the binding edge or the edge of the page.

 

  • If you are planning to design a Majestic size book, please contact us so that we can discuss your project and quote on shipping.
  • Unlike other sizes, Majestic portrait and landscape books are side sewn and have a deep gutter. When designing for these sizes, ensure that important content is well clear of the binding side edge to allow for the extra deep gutter.
  • Books designed for Majestic may not always be suitable for ordering at smaller sizes. If you wish to order the same book in sizes smaller than Majestic, we recommend that you copy your project file, convert it for lay-flat printing in the Pages menu of the Momento Pro software, and upload it again as a separate (new) project.
     

             

       

  • Fine-art books should be handled with additional care to avoid any damage
  • Momento Pro provides white gloves with each book which we recommend you (or your client) use to avoid accidental scuffing or scratching of the pages
  • When turning the pages of Majestic or Grand landscape books, additional care should be taken to avoid "kinking" the pages
  • Contact us immediately should your Fine-art book suffer any damage after delivery. We do not guarantee that we can fix your book however we will provide as much assistance as possible. Fixes or full book replacements due to damage will most likely incur additional costs unless the fault of Momento Pro's production.
